The 'Culturally aware supervision' series includes two workshops and an interim reflective activity. The main aim of the series is to:
introduce supervisors to the experiences of minoritised PGR students, focusing on how their cultural diversity influences their PhD journey;
outline three core pillars of effectively supporting these students considering their various cultural challenges.
Learning objectives
By the end of the series, participants will be able to:
define culture and cultural mix
identify culture-related challenges experienced by minoritised PGRs
outline steps that can be taken to build supportive supervision relationships with minoritised PGRs.
Delivery format & timings
Two 90-minute workshops delivered either in person or online, with an interim independent reflective activity.
