The Supervisor Seminar Series is a programme that brings together colleagues involved in doctoral supervision to engage with a variety of research supervision-related themes. Each seminar focuses on a specific theme and brings together research supervisors and institutional experts. The series is designed to:
respond to local institutional and sector-wide initiatives, policies, and priorities in doctoral education;
strengthen supervision practice through peer-learning, structured discussion, and shared problem-solving;
improve supervisors’ awareness of (and confidence in using) relevant institutional support services, guidance, and resources.
Learning objectives
By the end of each seminar, participants will have an increased:
understanding of supervision practices across their institution
awareness of the various challenges and key issues that supervisors face
recognition of the different approaches to effectively address these issues
confidence in their own supervisory practice
knowledge of how to access institutional policies, resources, and services
appreciation of a peer network they can turn to for support.
